Responsible breeders have all the necessary medical certificates, registrations and a pedigree to prove that the puppies are purebred. Responsible breeders breed for the standard, no matter whether their Shar-Peis are referred to as pet quality dogs or show quality dogs. The betterment of the breed is what a Shar-Pei breeder should keep in mind. Visit the kennel and see the conditions in which the dogs are living. You should be able to see both parents of the litter. Ask questions on the breed history, upkeep and possible problems you may face while caring for the Shar-Pei. In his turn, the breeder will ask you questions to find out if you are the right match with the Shar-Pei. If he sees that you are not ready to provide required conditions for the puppy, he is unlikely to sell you the pup. A true breeder is interested in keeping track of the pups' futures. If you bought Shar-Peis from a responsible breeder, you may be sure that you may always get help even when the puppy has already grown up.
